Terms and Conditions & Cancellation Policy

It is my intention to share my knowledge and experience in a way that is accessible, helpful, and of benefit to you. However, we do live in a commercial world where services are provided and paid for. Therefore, we need to have terms and conditions so that you have a clear understanding of where we stand in regards to this exchange.

Retreats: Cancellation Policy

  • A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your space.

Please note that there will be no refunds or discounts for arriving late, leaving early, flight cancellations, travel delays, or illness.

  • If you cancel your participation in a retreat for any reason, the cancellation policy below will apply with no exceptions. I wish I could compensate people for unforeseen circumstances (injury, family emergency, etc.), but we have already incurred costs when reserving retreat centres and hotels. I have designed the cancellation policy to be as compassionate as possible in the event that your plans change. But to protect yourself further, I strongly encourage you to purchase travel insurance (including COVID).
  • If you cancel more than 90 days prior to the start of the event, you receive a full refund (excluding the deposit).
  • If you cancel 90–30 days prior to the start of the event, provided your place is filled by another person, you may transfer the full credit (excluding the deposit) to future events organised by Hannaonhands within the next 12 months from the date of cancellation. Otherwise, you receive no refunds or credits.
  • If you cancel less than 30 days prior to the start of the event, you receive no refunds or credits.
  • Cancellation of an event, for whatever reason, must be notified in writing to Hannaonhands via email.

Retreat Cancellations

  • You are responsible for reading and understanding our cancellation policy before you make a reservation.
  • Of course, no one books with the expectation of cancelling or postponing their retreat; however, unexpected things can happen, so it is important that you have travel cancellation insurance once you have made your reservation.
  • Travel insurance is a condition of booking a Hannaonhands Retreat, which you should take out at the time of booking. Please ensure that your insurance policy includes cancellation insurance to cover you for any unexpected cancellations by yourself, including but not limited to illness, bereavement, family emergencies, work conflicts, changes of circumstances, etc., and also in respect of medical expenses, injury, death, and repatriation with adequate cover.
  • Hannaonhands will not be held responsible and no refunds will be made for any cancellation or curtailment due to factors beyond our control, including but not limited to:
  • Cancellations, delays, or changes caused by war, the threat of war, terrorist actions or threats, the closure of airports, civil strife, industrial action, natural disasters, pandemics, technical problems with transport, staff cancellations, or other events beyond our control
  • Participants’ medical or psychiatric/emotional conditions may become apparent through practising daily on retreat.
  • Loss of, or damage to, the personal property of participants.

If we cancel the retreat

  • In the unlikely event that the retreat must be cancelled due to family problems, my health, or too few participants, I will refund to you all deposits and payments you have made. I cannot compensate you for airfare or travel costs incurred. To cover these risks, I highly recommend you purchase travel insurance.

Travel insurance

  • The best way to protect yourself from any unforeseen circumstance is to purchase trip insurance. Travel insurance can protect you in the following cases:
  • You cancel your participation in the retreat, including COVID.
  • The retreat is cancelled due to the above-mentioned situations.
  • Lost baggage
  • Medical expenses and the cost of repatriation should you become ill or injured

Liability

We do not accept any liability for:

  • Cancellations, delays, or changes caused by war, threat of war, terrorist actions or threats, pandemics, airport closures, civil strikes, industrial action, natural disasters, technical problems with transport, staff cancellations, weather, or other events beyond our control
  • Loss of, or damage to, the personal property of participants.
  • If you have had any major physical or emotional illness within the past 5 years or are under medical or psychiatric supervision, you must notify us of the details at the time of booking and, where appropriate, enclose a doctor’s certificate of fitness to travel. Non-disclosure of relevant information can invalidate your insurance and cancel our contractual obligation to you.
  • For severe food allergies, please notify us by separate email, highlighting the issue. We do our best to cater to all dietary requirements, but we cannot guarantee cross-contamination in the kitchen. In the case of severe allergies, a separate disclaimer will have to be signed.
  • In the very unlikely event that Hannaonhands is unable to teach a retreat at short notice, for example due to, but not limited to, severe illness or bereavement, Hannaonhands reserves the right to find a replacement teacher. In this situation, no refunds will be issued. If no replacement teacher can be arranged and the retreat is cancelled, any deposits will be refunded to you in full. Any accommodation costs that have been paid to the venue will be refundable according to the venue’s cancellation policy.

Payments deposit and balance

  • Up to 30 days before the retreat, only a deposit is required. 30 days or less, the full amount and payment of the balance are required. Retreats aren’t confirmed without full payment.

Health & Safety Policy

It is the policy of HannaOnHands to comply with the terms of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and subsequent legislation and to provide and maintain a healthy and safe working environment. HannaOnHands health and safety objective is to minimise the number of instances of occupational accidents and illnesses and ultimately to achieve an accident-free teaching environment.

All employees will be provided with such equipment, information, training and supervision as is necessary to implement the policy and achieve the stated objective.

HannaOnHands recognise and accept their duty to protect the health and safety of all students/clients, as well as any members of the public who might be affected by us.

While the management of HannaOnHands will do all that is within its powers to ensure the health and safety of its employees, it is recognised that health and safety at work is the responsibility of each and every individual associated with the company. It is the duty of each employee to take reasonable care of their own and other people's welfare and to report any situation which may pose a threat to the well being of any other person.

The management of HannaOnHands will provide every employee with the training necessary to carry out their tasks safely. However if an employee is unsure how to perform a certain task or feels it would be dangerous to perform a specific task then it is the employee's duty to report this to the management. An effective health and safety programme requires continuous communication between staff. It is therefore every staff's responsibility to report immediately any situation, which could jeopardise the well being of themselves or any other person.

All injuries, however small, sustained by a person at work must be reported to the management or a delegated representative. Accident records are crucial to the effective monitoring and revision of the policy and must therefore be accurate and comprehensive.

HannaOnHands’s health and safety policy will be continually monitored and updated, particularly when changes in the scale and nature of our operations occur. The policy will be updated at least every 12 months.

The specific arrangements for the implementation of the policy and the personnel responsible are detailed below.
